Mental Health Staff and Locations

Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) and Marriage & Family Therapists (MFTs) have completed a master's degree program and thousands of hours of training. These professionals work with individuals, families and groups to address a broad range of problems. Sensitive to differences among cultures, family types and individuals, the Mercy Medical Group Behavioral Health counseling staff works with clients to identify concerns and recommend supportive treatment approaches.

Child, adolescent and adult psychiatrists are physicians who are specialists in the treatment of mental illness, trained to work with particular age groups. Geriatric Network

The Geriatric Network is an in-home mental health program that provides high quality outpatient geropsychiatric services at no charge to the elderly of Sacramento County. CHW Medical Foundation and the County of Sacramento Health and Human Services Department have joined forces to provide this unique service.

If you know an elderly relative, neighbor or friend who may be having difficulty as a result of a mental illness or emotional disorder, please refer them to the Geriatric Network.

Mental illness in the elderly can take many forms: depression, dementia, excessive anxieties or psychotic episodes. Geriatric Network's team of social workers, nurses and psychiatrists is specially trained to intervene when an older person is in crisis.

Through careful assessment of the elderly person at his or her residence, an individualized treatment plan is developed. Care options may include counseling with the individual and his or her family, referral to other community resources, short-term hospitalization or assistance with long-term placement, if necessary. A Geriatric Network case manager can assist a client in remaining independent and functional with ongoing monitoring and support.
